Technology have reached great heights but everything has its own pros and cons, hence technology is also misused a lot, especially mobile and internet. A new way of fooling people have started. I wanted to share this with all so that innocent people are saved from any sort of trouble.
We get mails from yahoo lottery stating that we have won a huge amount (they can go up to telling one million $) through a random selection. E-mail would look very near to a professional mail so that any person may ignore the minor loop poles in it due to excitement of winning huge amount by doing nothing at all. I got a similar mail, I knew its bogus but still wanted to give a try to see how they respond, and therefore I replied to their first mail the way they wanted. Then I got a call that they are sending a diplomat from UK with my winning cheque. He will reach India and give me call and then I’ll have to follow him to get the amount credited to my local bank account. I became very irate and suspicious so I checked on Google to find that this process is going on and by this means, they even hack the amount that is there in our bank accounts. REAL DANGER.
To my shock next morning, I really got the call that he is waiting at the airport for me. I can no longer control my sensation and I told him to wait at the airport to meet my inspector. To this he hang the call and called back after five minutes to yell at me that if I had distrust on him then why I agreed for him to come from UK when I got the call previous night. To this I replied “do you want me to deem this utter nonsense that you are coming down from UK to give me one million $ for nothing at all wherein it’s difficult to earn even a penny today.” He again hanged up. However, I didn’t give up.
I gave his number, which was a local mobile number to my cousin, to talk to him, and find out what is it. He did so and we became very sure that he is a big fraud with limited knowledge. My sharp cousin started shooting up queries on him. It follows like this:
1. On what basis have you selected her as a winner for such a huge amount, to which there was no reply.
2. What is your location, at which terminal of airport are you waiting, to which he was again resistant to retort.
He tried to threaten my cousin by saying he’ll lodge a complaint against me and I’ll have to deal with FBI. My cousin with lot of difficulty controlled his giggle and asked how you can go to FBI? UK police is Scotland Yard and not FBI, to which he went off blank. He was asked under which section could you file a case against her, instead we’ll file a case against you for fraudulent practice. If it’s not so then tell me where you exactly are and we both will come right away to meet you and get the amount. To which he closed the call by saying “it’s none of your business; she’ll have to deal with FBI now”. Ha ha ha FBI again.
